Promise Keepers

Promise Keepers is an organization founded in 1990 by Bill McCartney and Dave Wardell.

This organization encourages men to live sanctified lives with the help of the Holy Spirit. It promotes works-righteousness, and the charismatic movement, as it could be argued that men who are not perceived as leading sanctified lives are not "in the spirit".

Though some of the goals of the Promise Keepers are laudable (e.g. men's responsibility in building strong marriages and families), a Promise Keeper is an inwardly focused Christian, committed to the promises he makes rather than to the promises that the Lord has given.
